About Mindy Joy
Mindy Reid-Glaser is an ordained minister, and Christian songwriter and singer. She taught herself piano as a little girl and was singing and accompanying herself by age 11. Mindy was raised in a Chicago suburb, and attended Interlochen Center for the Arts Camp in Michigan the Summer after 8th Grade and also going into Sophomore year, where she studied piano, voice, classical and jazz improvisation. She performed in Soul & Rhythm in Blues bands and Jazz Clubs in Chicago right after graduating college.
Two years later, at 23 years old, she relocated to Los Angeles where she continued to sing and record. At 29 years old she was filled with the Holy Spirit and had a spiritual encounter which impassioned her to ONLY sing songs of Praise & Worship and based on the Holy scriptures as written in the Word of God from that point on.
She sang and soloed in choirs and was part of a 9-member contemporary Gospel group for 10 years that was awarded the Best Contemporary Gospel Group in Southern California at the Walt Disney Gospel Fest. Mindy also was 1 of 3 background singers in Trinidad to an audience of 17,000, for a famous grammy award Gospel singer. As a soloist, she ministered in song in Japan, and in various states throughout the U.S. Mindy ministered in song and word at Women’s Fellowships and Retreats, Prison Ministries, Homeless Shelters, Juvenile Home ministries, Drug and Alcohol ministry services and celebrations, and church services and Christian ministries and was awarded a proclamation from the mayor of Los Angeles for Music Ministry to the Los Angeles community (particularly displaced individuals). Mindy traveled and ministered with her late husband, Pastor Michael Reid, and encouraged women as a guest speaker at Bible Studies beside her late husband.
After her late husband went to be with the Lord, Mindy remarried a Christian composer and together they compose and arrange unique, powerful Messianic songs in different musical genres. Mindy also was requested to teach Bible classes at two Bible Colleges in Los Angeles for undergrad and grad students and did so for 2 years during the pandemic. The subjects she taught were on the Book of Mark, the Book of Proverbs, Prayer & Spiritual Power, and the Benefits of Salvation. Many of the missionary students were from around the world. Mindy also speaks at various events as an ordained minister of the Gospel and sings monthly at the “Women of Faith” ministries and is a guest speaker and praise & worship leader at various retreats, conferences and benefit concerts.
For the past 14 years, Mindy has focused on writing songs of praise and victory to encourage the overlooked and forgotten, she created 40 podcasts on her station, “Revive Your Soul with Mindy Joy” and created many YouTube videos to help others overcome addiction, depression, loss, and also focused on parents of special needs children. All can be accessed on her website, MindyJoyMinistries.com. Mindy’s sole purpose to write and sing and proclaim the Word of God is to glorify God and love His people! Her favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 1:27-28 (ESV): “But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,”
